Northway Water Main Break

A water main broke on Sunday, September 3 in front of a home in the 6800 block of Northway.

Crews spent most of the day repairing the damage. Northway was open to a limited amount of traffic during the repairs and area residents reported receiving little or no water during the break.

There have been frequent water main breaks this summer in Greendale, especially in the "downtown" area of Northway and near the Greendale water tower (see below).

Water Main Break at Tower

A 12" water main broke on August 23 in the Crocus Court Apartments next to the Greendale water tower.

A torrential amount of water flowed down into the Greendale Post Office loading dock area, creating a "swimming pool" according to eye witnesses.

In addition to the Fire Department and We Energies, Greendale Police Chief Robert Dams and interim Village Manager Todd Michaels were on hand to inspect the scene and lend a hand. The Red Cross was there to give assistance to residents who were forced out of their apartments by the flooding water.
